RY-Kayıp Azaltma Projesi (Temiz Kalkınma Mekanizması-CDM)

Projenin amacı

The proposed project will finance the supply, delivery and installation of different types of equipment at various places throughout 18 regions of Yemen that will help Public Electricity Corporation reduce its technical losses. The items includes: meters, power system analyzers and reactive compensation equipment. This Carbon Finance operation is linked to the operation under implementation, i.e., Yemen-Power Sector Project (P086865) approved by the Board on May 23, 2006. $75,000 allocated provided ERPA is signed this FY. 11/19/08: Sign ERPA date changed from 1/29/2009 to April 30, 09 based on email from TTL Somin Mukherji dated 11/19/2008 Subject: Fw: URGENT - Yemen Loss reduction program - implementation schedule upto ERPA - Team pls read and respond. 3/12/09. ERPA Signing slipped from 4/30/09 to 6/30/09. Delay due to time required to negotiate the contract with the selected consulting firm. Negotiations were not successful and had to be negotiated with the second ranked consulting firm. Hiring of the consultant for the Loss Reduction component of the Power Sector Project took much longer than anticipated. Mobilization has now taken place. The CDM consultants are in direct contact with the Loss Reduction consultants. 5/23/09. The expected ERPA Signing date slipped from 6/30/09 to 9/30/09. 06/02/09: Change of TTLship from Somin Mukherji(UPI# 17170) to Jianping Zhao (UPI # 83094) effective 06/01/2009 as requested by Somin email date 06/02/2009. 2/18/10. According to Deal Manager, the ERPA signing slipped from 2/26/10 to 3/31/10. 3/11/10. Draft ERPA is being reviewed by the Government and is expected to be negotiated next week. 4/7/10. Delay in ERPA signing is due to disclosure policy. More details to be provided by TTL. 5/13/10. RVP approved today the final package so that the Emission Reduction Purchase Agreement (ERPA) with the Public Electricity Corporation can be signed. This project is the distribution sub-component of the Yemen Power Sector Project financed by IDA, which was approved by the Board on May 23, 2006. No appraisal is required as it is part of Yemen Third Power Project.
