Development objective

The proposed operation supports the Recipient’s efforts to improve economic governance by strengthening Government accountability, increasing public sector performance, and promoting growth through private sector development. The reforms supported by theoperation seek (i) to improve economic governance by strengthening accountability systems; (ii) to promote service delivery throughbetter governance and efficiency in the education, health and agriculture sectors, rationalization of agencies and strengthening monitoring and evaluation; and (iii) to enhance private sector development through energy sector reforms, improvements in the investment climate, and stimulating the tourism sector.
